1. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your email address, password, and username. Your password is securely hashed and never stored in plain text.

User Content

We store content you create within the app, including your watchlist items, reviews, ratings, episode watch progress, and personal notes.

Profile Information

You may optionally upload a profile picture, which is stored on our servers.

Device & Crash Data

We use Firebase Crashlytics to collect anonymous crash reports and diagnostic data to improve app stability. This data does not include any personally identifiable information and is not linked to your identity.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To provide and maintain your account and watchlist
• To sync your data across sessions
• To send notifications about upcoming episodes and releases (with your permission)
• To process in-app purchases
• To diagnose crashes and improve app performance

3. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• Supabase: Authentication and data storage. See Supabase Privacy Policy
• TMDB (The Movie Database): Movie and TV show information. See TMDB Privacy Policy
• Jikan (MyAnimeList API): Anime information. Content sourced from MyAnimeList.
• RevenueCat: In-app purchase management. See RevenueCat Privacy Policy
• Firebase Crashlytics: Anonymous crash reporting. See Firebase Privacy

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties.

4. Data Storage

Your account data, watchlist, reviews, and profile information are stored securely on Supabase servers. Session tokens and notification preferences are stored locally on your device. Cached images are stored temporarily on your device (up to 200 MB) and are cleared when you sign out.

5. Notifications

With your permission, we send push notifications about new episodes and upcoming releases from your watchlist. You can enable or disable notifications and customize the notification time in the app's settings.

6. Data Deletion

You can request deletion of your account and all associated data by using the "Delete Account" option in your profile settings. This sends a request to our team, and your account will be permanently deleted within 30 days. Upon sign out, all locally cached data is cleared from your device.

7. Children's Privacy

PopcornStack is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
